NORML Announcement: Willie Nelson Schedules Benefit Concert

July 6, 2007

Dear NORML Supporters:

Willie Nelson has just announced that on Friday, August 10th in Austin, Texas, he and several other popular groups will perform at a benefit concert called the Austin Freedom Fest. The beneficiaries of the first Austin Freedom Fest will be NORML, WAMM and MPP.

Willie Nelson, who serves as co-chair of NORML's Advisory Board, has long been one of America's most outspoken proponents for legalizing the personal use of marijuana by adults, and stopping the senseless arrest of nearly 800,000 Americans each year on marijuana charges.

The proceeds from this benefit concert will be divided equally between NORML, WAMM (the hospice for medical marijuana patients in Santa Cruz, CA) and the Marijuana Policy Project.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for NORML supporters to gather for a celebration in Austin," said NORML Executive Director Allen St. Pierre. "Willie Nelson has been the most prominent proponent for legalizing marijuana in America for several decades, and he has never wavered from his commitment. It is only natural that we would eventually end up in Austin, Texas at a Willie Nelson concert to benefit the drive to legalize the responsible use of marijuana in America."

The concert will be held at the Backyard in Austin, Texas, and the tickets will be on sale beginning Saturday, July 7th at Gettix.

In addition to Willie Nelson, legendary Tex as and country band Asleep at the Wheel, the infamous Jackie 'the Joke Man' Whartling; Carolyn Wonderland; Paula Nelson and other invited guests will be performing. NORML Advisory Board member Mark Stepnoski, the former NFL all-star Dallas Cowboy, will be hosting the event.

Tickets for this historic musical event in support of personal freedom and autonomy will likely sell-out fast, so please order your tickets immediately and make your travel plans to Austin -- the Texas music and entertainment Mecca!

Stay tuned to NORML Alerts and the Daily AudioStash every weekday @ 4:20 PM for more information about the Austin Freedom Fest, interviews and special ticket giveaways to NORML supporters.

Join NORML founder Keith Stroup and NORML Advisory Board members Willie Nelson, Mark Stepnoski and Valerie Corral (of WAMM) for what is shaping-up to be a memorable night in Texas.

Ever higher,

Allen St. Pierre
